Red Bull King of the Air 2016

The Red Bull King of the Air 2016 kite surfing competition was held at Big Bay on Sunday in front of a huge crowd in extreme conditions that tested the riders to the limit. With a pumping South Easter and huge surf the stage was set for an epic battle in the finals. Aaron Hadlow of the UK was the eventual winner of the Red Bull King of the Air and is the first rider to win back to back titles. Sadly the extreme conditions also took their tolls in the semi’s and two riders suffered serious injuries (secondary drowning) after being knocked unconsious. At the moment they are still in hospital but are expected to make full recoveries. Extreme stuff indeed.
