The Cape Minstrel Carnival is an annual event that takes place on the 2nd January every year. It is known as the “Tweede Nuwe Jaar” or second new year. Multiple groups of locals take part in this musical color festival that marches through the streets of Cape town as they have traditionally done since the early 1800’s.
