Beaverlac is a magical place located high in the mountains of the Groot Winterberg above Porterville along the West Coast of South Africa. It forms part of the greater Cederberg and is characterized by beautiful mountain streams and numerous rock pools. This fabulous four day (three night) expedition involves camping in tents around a campfire in the spacious and grassy camping site. This expedition is geared for those who don’t mind roughing it up a bit. The campsite is well run and has really decent and well maintained ablution facilities and a busy little shop.
From a photographers perspective Beaverlac has a lot to offer. Landscape photography opportunities are plenty, as are sunrise, sunset, night skies, waterfalls and even underwater! The stars are bright in the sky at night when clear and coupled with the superb rock formations and pools make for some stunning Landscape Astrophotography. If you are new to photography John will happily guide you along and share his knowledge.
